The US Census Bureau releases monthly residential permit tabulations for New York City as well as each borough. These reports showed that Brooklyn led all boroughs in permitted new residential units with a total of 106,461 between the beginning of 2000 and June 2015. Manhattan had the next highest total with 91,410. Following Manhattan was Queens with 77,151.
