We mourn the loss of David Rockefeller, who passed away yesterday morning at the age of 101. He was a true visionary whose love for New York and a lifetime of work has altered the business, civic, philanthropic and cultural arc of our city. It was this love and dedication that led him to found The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) in the early 1970s as a direct response to the blight and abandonment wracking our communities, and at a time when many of his contemporaries had given up.
