The Lower East Side is located north of Houston and South of Division Street, and is housed between the East River and Bowery. One can find anything from pre-war tenement walk-ups type of tenements to full service luxury buildings catering to every need of a New Yorker.  The place has a vibrant and diverse night life (there are limitless options from hip bars to trendy theatres and comedy clubs for entertainment), it is still has managed to retain a very close, quite and friendly community atmosphere that has been prevalent throughout its history.

Art enthusiast will be interested in some of the art galleries which have move from the Chelsea neighborhood have shifts to the Lower East Side, with trendy smaller new galleries popping up.
