With a combination of International focus from family interests, an MBA, corporate experience at Mitsui, and an introduction to real estate, Joan began focusing her energies and entrepreneurial spirit nearly 20 years ago in the residential real estate business.

Joan founded MBRE as a boutique firm by choice, “We keep our roster small so we can give our clients the attention they deserve.”

Joan helps both American and International clients have their New York City real estate assets work for them. Excelling in luxury condominium rentals and sales, corporate relocations, and pre-construction sales. Joan and her clients have enjoyed access to every major new construction property built in NYC.

The combination of her ability to do financial analysis and negotiation, plus her International flair and intercultural understanding, make her a key mentor and ally for any client who wants to navigate the complex NYC real estate market.

Joan’s experience includes brokering commercial office space, retail leasing, building sales, real estate consultation and raising capital both in equity and debt from institutional investors such as Goldman Sachs, Citibank and Oppenheimer for developments.

Successes include being voted into “Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate,” and for having represented many high profile entertainment, diplomats, financial and business people worldwide.

Joan lives in Manhattan and is a Master Certified Negotiation Expert (MCNE), an active community member of the Asia Society, Civitas, China Institute, The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), and Sutton Area Community (SAC). She serves on the Board of Directors for her building, her child’s PTA and the East Midtown Neighborhood Coalition. Joan is an avid lover of the Asian cultures and has beginner knowledge of Mandarin.

Joan is a graduate of Miss Porters School, has a BA from Boston College, MA and an MBA from UHBS- Paris, France and University of Hartford, Hartford, CT.
